Mahbub Hassan (Graduate Student Member, IEEE) was born in Naogaon, Bangladesh. He received the Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree (Hons.) from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia. He is currently pursuing the master's degree in civil engineering (transportation engineering) with the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
In addition, he is the Founder of the B'deshi Emerging Research Laboratory, an online platform through which he mentors 15 undergraduate students from Bangladesh in their academic and research development by engaging them in active research.
As a Civil Engineer and a Transportation Researcher, he has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed articles in Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals. He has presented his work at international conferences in Singapore, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
His research interests include intelligent transportation systems (ITS), particularly at the intersection of transportation engineering and computer science, where he leverages advanced technologies and data-driven approaches to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability in transportation systems.
He is a Registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). His academic contributions have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Prestigious Non-ASEAN Scholarship, the Second Prize at the faculty level for his undergraduate thesis, and several international honors from Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore for excellence in research and academics.
He is also an active reviewer for Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals and international conferences.

Authored 12+ conference papers, led 18+ research papers, and delivered training on Python, SUMO, VISSIM, QGIS, and SmartPLS.

Assisted in preparing specialized lab for Malaysia's MRT system. Designed survey instruments and collected 400+ responses evaluating public perceptions of the Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP). Analyzed data using SPSS for project planning insights.
